The NE555P is a precision timer IC capable of producing accurate time delays or oscillation. In monostable mode, the timing interval is controlled by an external resistor and capacitor network. In astable mode, the frequency and duty cycle can be independently adjusted using two external resistors and a single external capacitor. This IC is available in an 8-pin DIP package and operates with a supply voltage ranging from 4.5V to 16V.
